Scion Corporation is pleased to announce two new products, the CFW-1012 series IEEE-1394 (FireWire) scientific digital cameras. The CFW-1012M is a full 12-bit monochrome digital camera with a resolution of 1024 768 pixels. The CFW-1012C is a single chip Bayer filter color camera featuring the same bit depth and resolution. Both cameras feature a full image frame rate of 15 frames per second. Both cameras feature analog gain control with a range of 0 to 36 dB and exposure control from .01 to 100 seconds. Scion provides full software support for the CFW-1012 cameras, including Scion VisiCapture, a full featured camera control and image capture application. Also provided is a TWAIN module for use with popular image processing and analysis applications such as Adobe PhotoShop. Plug-in support is also provided for the popular ImageJ program. Software is compatible with Windows XP, windows 2000, Windows Vista 32-bit, and Mac OS X. Both versions of the CFW-1012 retail for $695. The package includes a ten foot IEEE-1394 for use with six pin FireWire ports. For those with notebook computers, a four pin adapter is available on request.
